Aneesa receives WOB lifetime achievement award

Women on Boards (WOB) recognized the contributions made by former minister and well-known philanthropist Aneesa Ahmed with a lifetime achievement award on Tuesday.

Since WOB held its inaugural event four years ago, the event's lifetime category awarded notable Maldivian women across different sectors. In addition to Aneesa, throughout the ceremony a total of 23 individuals and one company that reaped awards.

During the ceremony held at Kurumba Resort, the award for having the most female representation on an executive board was given to the Pension Administration Office where, out of the eight members, five are female leaders.

- Fareeha Shareef, Best Female Chairperson in Private Sector

- Fathimath Zareena, Best Female Manager

- Niumath Shafeeg, for service in the Educational Sector

- Fathimath Ashan, Best Female Manager

- Leena Mohamed Zahir Hussain, Best Female Manager

- Hawwa Nashwa, Best Youth Worker

- Fathimath Nashwa, Best Youth Worker

- Safath Ahmed Zahir, Best Youth Worker

- Fathimath Jihan Saleem, for Humanitarian Work

- Shifla Ibrahim, Journalism.

- Suiza Ibrahim, Best CEO in Private Sector

- Aminath Nasheedha Aboobakr, Best CEO in Private Sector

- Aishath Shameela, Best CEO in Private Sector

- Fathimath Liusha, Best Female Company Secretary

- Zoona Naseem, for Sports

- Aniya Saeed, for Art and Entertainment

- Fathimath Afreen, for Service in Health

- Aminath Waheedha, for Service in Health

- Salma Shafeeg, for Public Service.

- Aminath Faheem, for Family Management.

All of the winners received an award and a certificate.

Along with Minister of Gender, Family and Social Services Shidatha Shareef, various individuals active in the area of furthering women's rights, were noted to be in attendance at the event.
