Hassan Nabaah of Maldives Broadcasting Commission resigned from the commission Sunday.
Speaking to local media Mihaaru after turning in his letter at the President's Office, Nabaah stated that resigning appeared to be the best decision for him at the moment. He did not elaborate further.
Another member of the commission, Ismail Sofwan, also handed in his resignation last week. He made the decision after the parliamentary Committee on Independent Institutions agreed to terminate him from the post.
The seven-member commission currently comprises of President Mohamed Shaheeb, Vice President Fathimath Zaina, Zeena Zahir, Amjad Waheed and Aminath Saraahath.
Amidst allegations that members of Broadcasting Commission had played key roles in targeting and penalising certain media channels during the previous administration, President Shaheeb recently admitted that the members had made wrongful decisions.
