Maldives Customs Service, on Friday, confiscated 1.096 kilograms of narcotic substances which were smuggled via flight from Trivandrum, India.
Customs disclosed that the drugs were found within the luggage of a 21-year-old male. The man's luggage was searched based on his suspicious behaviour.
According to Customs, preliminary investigations revealed that the illicit substance was hashish oil. Overall, the confiscated substances have an estimated street value of MVR 667,000.
The man was handed over to Maldives Police Service which will conduct further investigations into the matter.
