Parliament Speaker Mohamed Nasheed, on Tuesday, met Chief Justice Dr Ahmed Abdulla Didi.

The parliament speaker and chief justice had their meeting at the Parliament Office, but details of the visit are yet to be revealed.

Nasheed met the chief justice after the latter's suspension and the ensuing disagreement between the Supreme Court and Judicial Service Commission (JSC), as well as discussions held in parliament regarding his suspension.

Supreme Court ordered JSC to delay Dr Abdulla Didi’s suspension and not take further action, which JSC had refused to acquiesce. The parliament sided with JSC on the matter, further requesting the commission to probe whether the requirements of the current Supreme Court judges are met and to solve any other issues related to the court.
