Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Wednesday, hosted a meeting for all the Heads of Missions (HOM) of Maldives.

Delivering his opening remarks at the inauguration ceremony, President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih thanked the HOMs for their ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral ties with all nations and providing assistance to Maldivians living abroad.

The president further guaranteed that he will do all he can to assist ambassadors in their work and aid them in resolving any challenges and concerns.

Speaking of utilising the Maldivian foreign policy to improve the socio-economic welfare of the country, President Solih highlighted the current government's achievements such as increased inflow of tourists, signing of several development projects, and provision of social services.

Additionally, the president congratulated the Heads of Missions and foreign ministry's staff for the successful Maldives Partnership Forum 2019, which concluded on June 18, and highlighted the importance of cooperation in achieving the desired results of the 'Jazeera Raajje' Manifesto.

During the meeting, ambassadors presented and discussed concerns regarding issues faced in operating their respective embassies.

Moreover, Prosecutor General (PG) Aishath Bisham discussed rendering assistance from the ambassadors' designated countries on criminal matters.

Participants were also briefed by representatives from Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) and Aasandha Company Ltd, as well as Minister of Economic Development Fayyaz Ismail and Minister of Finance Ibrahim Ameer.

Towards the end of the meeting, possible solutions for the ambassador's concerns were discussed. The meeting concluded with a closing remark from Foreign Minister Abdulla Shahid.
