President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih on Sunday appointed Aishath Azeema and Mohamed Khaleel as Maldives’ ambassadors to China and Saudi Arabia respectively.
Both ambassadors were presented with letters of appointment, at a ceremony held at the President’s Office.
Aishath Azeema was previously deputy ambassador of Maldives to the United Kingdom in London. She also served in several senior capacities at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Additional Secretary and Joint Secretary.
Mohamed Khaleel was formerly Maldives' High Commissioner and Acting High Commissioner to Singapore. He attained a Diploma of Environmental Law and Policy from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India.
