Maldives Police Service are holding discussions to seek professional development from United Kingdom to train and guide officers on specialist, investigative and community policing roles.

After concluding his visit to the UK, Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed on Saturday revealed that discussions were held with the London Metropolitan Police Deputy Commissioner Stephen House, to request aid from the London Metropolitan Police (MET) to train local officers.

According to Hameed, he met with Senior Officers at Scotland Yard Headquarters during his visit, and held long conversations with DCP Stephen House.

Commissioner of Maldives Police Service Mohamed Hameed reveals details about his vist to the United Kingdom.

He stated that the two commissioners spoke of sending MET Officers to Maldives to train the local police service.

Furthermore, Hameed said that he was unable to meet with the London Police Commissioner as she had to appear in Parliament for the inquest on 2017 terror attack in London.

He further stated that he will expand Police engagement with MET officers and seek advancements in the field for officers.
