Minister of Foreign Affairs Abdulla Shahid on Thursday departed to Romania on an official visit.
The visit is on the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs of Romania, Teodor Meleșcanu.
During this visit, both diplomats will hold bilateral talks.
Additionally, Minister Shahid is set to meet with Vice Prime Minister of Romania, Ana Birchall and other senior officials of the Romanian Government in Bucharest.
Both Maldives and Romania will explore the possiblities of further enhancing the existing close ties.
Foreign Ministry's State Minister Ahmed Khaleel and Assistant Director Fathimath Razana are accompanying Minister Shahid on the visit.
