A man was killed in Shaviyani Atoll Narudhoo island when a wall collapsed on top of several men while attempting to demolish an old house on Tuesday.
The island council said 58 year old Ahmed Mufeed was killed while three others were injured when the wall came crashing down.
One of the injured remain in critical condition and have been sent to the regional hospital in nearby Kulhudhuffushi island in Haa Dhaal Atoll, council said.
Mufeed had reportedly suffered severe head injuries leading to his death.
"The accident occurred when they were trying to demolish an old house. It was a 12 foot wall," island council vice president Abdulla Azmee told Mihaaru.
