Police on Thursday arrested 19 people in two drug busts, in capital Male' City.
According to the service's spokesperson, men between the ages of 17 and 38 were arrested in the two operations conducted following intelligence reports.
The police raided a house in Galolhu ward under a warrant in the first operation, discovering substances suspected to be drugs in 1,211 rubber packets, 10 cellophane packets, three bullet-sized rubber packets, and film cans. Fourteen suspects, including one minor, were arrested.
The police raided another residence in the same ward in the second bust, where they seized substances suspected to be drugs in 62 rubber packets and arrested five men.
