Over MVR 100,000 stolen from school in Miladhoo

Perpetrators, on Saturday night, broke into the safe of Hidaya School in Miladhoo, Noonu Atoll, and stole over MVR 100,000 in cash.

Principal of Hidaya School Chandra Kumar revealed to local media Mihaaru that the robbery was confirmed on Sunday morning when the school was opened for its regular session.

A total of MVR 101,300 was present in the safe at the time of burglary.

"It was the money raised by celebrating workers day at the school", the principal said.

Additionally, Kumar disclosed that the case was reported to Police, and a team was en route from atoll capital Manadhoo to investigate the matter further.

Burglaries all over Maldives are on the rise as of late, with Police recovering the money in some cases.
