Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed commended the professionalism displayed by the officers who oversaw security during the Parliamentary Elections held on April 6.
In a tweet posted after the election, Hameed stated that he was "very proud" of the efforts and professionalism of the officers involved in 'Operation Blue Tide' on election day.
He congratulated the operation's commander, deputy and all the officers involved in the elections' security.
Maldives Police Service had assigned over 2,000 officers, under Operation Blue Tide, to maintain security in all the islands where ballot boxes were kept, including polling stations overseas.
The April 6 elections concluded smoothly with minimal issues and complaints raised.
