The "V Waves - Brain and Behavior" lab was launched for the use of students undergoing psychology at the college.
The lab inaugurated by Dr Afiya Ali, Principal Clinical Psychologist at the National Center for Mental Health during Villa College’s "Psychology Symposium".
During the inauguration, use of electroencephalogram (EEG) technology to monitor brain function had been demonstrated, highlighting how EEG can assist in diagnosing psychological disorders such as depression, anxiety, autism, attention deficit disorders, Alzheimer's, and dementia, drawing on advances in neuroscience and psychology.
The event also marked the release of the fourth, fifth, and sixth issues of the Villa College Psychology Bulletin, featuring articles on various aspects of psychology and counseling.
The symposium included panel discussions and research presentations by students enrolled in psychology and counseling programs. These activities aim to familiarize students with diverse topics within the field of psychology, Villa College said.
