United Victory (UV) football club has been fined MVR 30,000 by the Civil Court for violating the Maldives Immigration Act by bringing foreign players into the country on tourist visas.

According to the court ruling, the players were initially brought to the Maldives on business visas, but their visas were not renewed upon expiration. The club failed to deport the players after their visas had expired, leading to the violation.

Civil Court has ordered UV to pay the fine within seven days. The judgment was issued in the absence of the club, as the club owners did not appear in court despite being served a red notice at their permanent address.

Additionally, the club did not provide an alternative address and no representatives appeared in court even after public announcements were made.
