The water and sewerage system established in GDh. Hoadehdhoo under India's Line of Credit was inaugurated today.
President Dr. Mohamed Muizzu inaugurated these two services during his official trip to the southern islands.
Under the EXIM Bank loan, the previous government had contracted Traveni Engineering and Industries Limited to establish water and sewerage systems in 34 islands.
Some of these projects have been completed.
In Hoadehdhoo, five sewerage pump stations have been established, along with a sea outfall, the installation of a water and sewerage network throughout the island, and two RO plants capable of producing 75 tons of water per day.
Additionally, two tanks have been installed for water storage, and water and sewerage connections have been made to households.
An agreement has also been signed between the Hoadehdhoo Council and BML to install an ATM on the island.
