Haa Dhaalu Naivaadhoo, Raa Inguraidhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Vaadhoo, and Alifu Dhaalu Mahibadhoo have emerged as champions in their respective zones in the Golden Futsal Challenge 2025.
Haa Dhaalu Naivaadhoo, Raa Inguraidhoo, Gaafu Dhaalu Vaadhoo, and Alifu Dhaalu Mahibadhoo have emerged as champions in their respective zones in the Golden Futsal Challenge 2025.
Naivaadhoo won over Haa Alifu Dhidhdhoo 2-0 in the Zone One final at Rehendhi Turf Stadium in Hulhumale' yesterday. Abdulla Shafiu (Shaappe) and Ahmed Hameed scored the winning goals for Naivaadhoo. Shafiu was named the best player of the zone, while Ahmed Hameed and Ali Saam from Dhidhdhoo were the top goal-scorers.
In Zone Two, Inguraidhoo defeated reigning champions Raa Dhivaafaru 4-2. The goals for Inguraidhoo came from Mohamed Mamdhooh, Ahmed Masheed, Ahmed Aiham (Aih), and Ali Hafiz (Haappe), while Hassan Azoom scored both of Dhivaafaru's goals. Hafiz was named the best player and top scorer of the zone.
Gaafu Dhaalu Mahibadhoo, the champions of Zone Four last year, claimed their title once again after a dramatic 4-2 penalty shootout win against Alifu Alifu Mathiveri. Mohamed Shafraz, Abdulla Fizan Abdul Ghafoor, and Ali Alsan scored for Mathiveri, while Mahibadhoo equalized with goals from Ibrahim Usama Abdul Majeed, Adam Fahuman, and Abdulla Midhath Fahmy (Bichad), who was named the best player of the zone. Ibrahim Imran of Alifu Dhaalu Mandhoo was the highest goal-scorer.
In Zone Seven, Vaadhoo secured a 1-0 victory over Gnaviyani Fuvahmulah Dhandimagu, with Ibrahim Shauf Mohamed scoring the winning goal. Ayaz Ahmed was named the best player of the zone, and Ali Sanoon from Seenu Hithadhoo finished as the top goal-scorer.
The tournament now heads into the knockout round, where the top teams from each zone will compete in the top 16. The matches are scheduled for Saturday night.
