Noonu zone matches of Tekkers Resort Cup kicks off at Siyam World

The Noonu zone matches of the Dhiraagu Tekkers Resort Futsal Cup 2024 has kicked off in Siyam World Maldives on Monday with a total of five teams.

The Noonu zone matches of the Dhiraagu Tekkers Resort Futsal Cup 2024 has kicked off at Siyam World Maldives on Monday with a total of five teams participating.

During the first match of the zone, host Siyam World, the defending runner-up team, had triumphed over Cheval Blanc Randheli with a score of 3-2. The title of best player of this match was award to Aadhee Abdul Ghanee from Siyam World.

Three teams had participated in the Noonu zone matches last year, with this year observing five participants. These teams are Siyam World, Cheval Blanc Randheli, Soneva Jani, Sun Siyam Irufushi and Velaa Private Island, the reigning champion.

Velaa Private Island had clinched victory over Siyam World last year during a penalty shootout in the zone finals. They had also defeated St. Regis Vommuli during finals, claiming the champions title of the Dhiraagu Tekkers Resort Futsal Cup 2023.

During their first match held yesterday, Velaa had secured victory against Soneva Jani 3-0 with Velaa's Ibrahim Najah awarded the title of best player of the match.

The next match of this zone will take place this evening with Cheval Blanc Randheli and Sun Siyam Irufushi.

The team to claim first place in the league rounds will directly advance into the finals slated to take place on October 2. The remaining spot in the finals will be secured by the winner of the semifinals scheduled to take place on September 30.

The semifinal match will see two teams competing for second and third place after the league rounds.

The Noonu zone champion will face off against the winner from Lhaviyani Atoll, Le Méridien Maldives Resort and Spa, in the championship matches. The winner of this match is scheduled to compete against Joali Being, the Raa zone champion, in the quarterfinals of the tournament.
