18 commercial spaces will be up for lease next week.
Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has confirmed that it will open applications next week for commercial spaces in the towers of 4,000 flats being developed in Hulhumalé Phase 2.
The corporation said today that there will be 127 commercial spaces in 32 units. This includes retails shops, supermarkets, hypermarkets, cafés and restaurants as well as clinics and office spaces, FDC said. FDC said. that fruit and vegetable market spaces will also be available.
These spaces will range from 580-6,200 square feet. FDC said they would also allow additional space depending on the use of the space. Prices of these spaces will be standard market rates, between MVR 40-45 per square foot. As such, the smallest space will go for MVR 30,000.
FDC said that the spaces would be leased in six zone categories, with the first zone to be opened up for lease next week. This includes 18 commercial spaces.
Each of the 32 towers of 4,000 flats being built by FDC will have part of the ground floor and the first floor reserved for businesses.
The corporation said the main purpose of the commercial spaces is to provide basic services nearby before people start living in the towers. FDC estimates that about 30,000 people will live in the flats when people start living in the areas.
The opportunity is aimed at small and medium enterprises and priority will be given to start-ups, FDC said.
