Ooredoo partnered with Qatar charity to renovate and install air conditioning in Hulhumalé's Masjid Al Sheikh Qasim bin Al-Thani, commonly known as the Hulhumalé Grand Mosque.

The mosque was reopened after renovations last week. A special ceremony was held to mark the occasion with Assistant CEO of Programs and Community Development Sector at Qatar Charity Faisal Rashid Al-Fahida, Ooredoo Maldives' CEO Khalid Al-Hamadi, Malé City Mayor Adam Azim as well as officials from Housing Development Corporation (HDC) and Ooredoo Maldives in attendance.

At the ceremony, Khalid Al-Hamadi said that Ooredoo is not just committed to providing connectivity services, but also serving the community in general. The renovation of the mosque was done under that vision, he said.

He went on to say that the purpose of the mosque's renovation was to create a comfortable environment for all those involved in worship at the mosque, especially during Ramadan.

At the ceremony,Faisal Rashid Al-Fahida said the organisation aims to carryout work that benefit communities across the globe, and added that he hopes the mosque renovation would serve that purpose for many.

The Hulhumalé Grand Mosque, built in 2006, can accommodate more than 1,800 people comfortably. The courtyard of the mosque is adorned with trees, and the interior of the mosque has a beautiful geometric design above the ceiling.
