Maldives Immigration has yesterday placed in detention three Indians advertising Hindu spiritual healing and psychic astrology services in the Maldives.
In a post on social media X today, Immigration said that three arrested are Dhananjay Bailapati, 18, Nagaraja Bailapati, 39, and Sreehari Vanam, 25. All three are are Indian nationals.
Immigration said that they are currently in the process of deporting the three.
The three foreign nationals engaging in unauthorized astrology practices were apprehended and detained yesterday in an operation carried out in coordination with @PoliceMv. The deportation process is now underway. pic.twitter.com/xFgIuRNubP

Advertisements on a Facebook page titled 'Master Durga Rao Guruji' claim that they offer black magic reversals, spiritual healing for health issues, marital issue resolution, and palmistry amongst other services. The advertisement also bears a local number to call for appointments.
