National Social Protection Agency (NSPA) met with heavy criticism for publicly disclosing the details of aid provided to a patient and has subsequently issued an apology.
An individual posted concerns speaking of the decrease in aid being received for a cancer patient within his family. In response to this, NSPA posted details of all funds issued to the patient since last year.
NSPA released a statement dismissing the individual's claims as false. This was met with public criticism.
With this, NSPA deleted the statement from social media and later issued an apology. In the apology, they accepted that it is not right to disclose details of aid provided to the patient.
NSPA has since met with the individual who initially raised concerns and provided him with details of the aid allocated to the patient in question.
