100 housing units in Thulhaadhoo

Ministry of Finance, on March 6, announced the public tender for a company to construct 100 housing units in Thulhaadhoo, Baa Atoll.

The project is lead by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development.

According to the Finance Ministry, they searching for a contractor who would design and build these housing units.

Interested contractors can apply to take part in the bidding from March 10 till April 3. Participants are required to pay a fee of MVR 1500 as participation fee and USD 100,000 as a security deposit for the bidding.

The tender process will take place on April 4.

This is one of the major six housing projects set to commence this year.

In February, Finance Ministry announced that they are seeking a contractor to build 200 housing units in Gan, Laamu Atoll. MVR 207 million is allocated for the project.

Additionally, including ongoing six projects, MVR 321 million is set to be utilized for housing projects.

In the 2019 budget, the administration allocated MVR 6.6 billion for the Public Sector Investment Program (PSIP), which is to finance 315 new projects and 229 ongoing projects.
