Head office of the Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) on Chaandhanee Magu was vandalized with black oil, causing damage to the premises.
The attack comes after MDP put up photographs at its office gate, of members of People’s National Congress (PNC) allegedly involved in submitting fake membership forms to increase the party's numbers.
Police attended the scene last night to investigate the incident but have not yet issued a statement.
Throwing black oil at properties is a common act of political aggression in Maldives during disputes between rival parties.
Elections Commission (EC) confirmed the submission of fake membership forms by PNC.
