Maldives Broadcasting Commission (BroadCom) has launched a survey to monitor public engagement with TV channels and radio stations.

In a statement today, BroadCom said that the initiative aims to enhance the broadcasting sector using modern technology. The data collected will be crucial in improving the quality of content produced by broadcasters and shaping future policies.

BroadCom has also requested relevant authorities to provide this information regularly.

BroadCom President Sofa Shafeeq highlighted the importance of viewer engagement data, noting that broadcasters frequently request such insights.

"With this information, channels will be able to create and develop content based on viewer engagement. Programs will be shaped according to the needs of viewers. This is now available in new media," Sofa said.

The Broadcasting and Re-Broadcasting Regulations are designed to promote local content while ensuring access to international programs. BroadCom believes that maintaining such records will help broadcasters refine and expand their content offerings.
