A man who was under house arrest after being convicted of theft has once again been arrested for robbery.
He is a Male' resident with a prior record of theft.
The Criminal Court order said that phones believed to be stolen property were found on him when he was stopped by Police.
At the time, he said that the phones had been given to him to sell by a friend. However, when presented in Court, he changed his account and said that he had taken the phones from a bag left outside when Police had been inspecting a 'cartel' near the location.
The court order said that despite his claims, CCTV footage from the location showed him causing damage to the door of a shop and walking near the shop.
Although he claimed he had been outside of his home accompanied by a guardian, the CCTV footage shows that he was alone, the court order reads.
Based on these factors, the Criminal Court has placed the man on 15 days remand in custody.
