Bank of Maldives has today inaugurated ATM services in seven islands of Haa Alif atoll. With this, ATM services are now available in all inhabited islands of the atoll.
The islands where ATMs were placed today are Utheemu, Thuraakunu, Uligan, Mulhadhoo, Maarandhoo, Thakandhoo and Muraidhoo.
Minister of Tourism and Environment Thoriq Ibrahim, Minister of Economic Development and Trade Mohamed Saeed, BML CEO and Managing Director Mohamed Shareef and Chairperson and Chief Business Officer attended the inauguration event.
BML CEO Shareef said that with the placement of the ATM, banking services are now available in the islands around the clock. He noted how this would provided added ease to customers.
Minister Thoriq also emphasized the added convenience placement of ATMs brings to residents of the islands. He reiterated that President Dr Mohamed Muizzu targets to place ATMs in all inhabited islands by the end of the year.
With the placement of these ATMS, BML now has 39 branches across 20 atolls, 107 self service banking centres, 165 ATMs, agent banking services and online services.
