The ministry said that failure to comply with this regulation will result in action under the Safety of Vessels in the Sea of Maldives Regulations.
The Ministry of Transport has mandated that vessels anchored in lagoons or at jetties must have an adequate number of crew on board at all times.
In a statement, the ministry highlighted that unattended vessels have led to dangerous accidents and property damage.
"For safety and security, it is essential to have an adequate number of crew members to maintain the vessel when it is anchored or at a jetty," the announcement stated.
The ministry said that failure to comply with this regulation will result in action under the Safety of Vessels in the Sea of Maldives Regulations.
