Parliament’s Budget Review Committee has set November 20 as the deadline to complete its review of the 2025 budget.
In today's sitting, the committee established a timeline for the budget review process, with Fuvahmulah Central MP Ali Fawad appointed as Chairperson and Eydhafushi MP Ahmed Saleem as Vice-Chair.
The committee has also decided to request statements from the Audit Office and the Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) regarding the proposed budget. Additionally, letters will be sent to various agencies to obtain budget details for independent institutions and offices.
