The Scout Association of Maldives has hosted the annual Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) and Jamboree on the Internet (JOTI) national event at Hiriya School yesterday.

The event ran from 09:00 hrs to 18:00 hrs, offering an exciting opportunity for Maldivian Scouts to engage with their global counterparts through a range of activities that combined traditional Scouting values with modern technology.

In addition to the radio activities, Dhiraagu, the digital partner for JOTI, facilitated the internet segment of the event.

During the event, Scouts connected via video calls with participants from around the world, exchanging cultural experiences and learning about Scouting traditions in different countries. Scouts also engaged in various online activities featured on the JOTA-JOTI website, further enhancing their digital literacy and communication skills.

A dedicated "Being Safe Online" stall provided Scouts with crucial guidance on how to navigate the digital world responsibly, teaching them how to identify and manage online risks effectively.

In addition to these activities, Scouts engaged in interactive games like Scout Geo Guesser, which tested and sharpened their geographical knowledge, followed by origami sessions, where Scouts showcased their paper creations and shared them with other participants.
