A dinghy carrying three people from Gaafu Dhaalu atoll Fiyori to Gaafu Alifu atoll Dhevvadhoo has been reported missing.
According to the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF), the dinghy, which was transporting watermelons, was reported missing at around 6:12 pm last evening. It was carrying two locals and an expatriate.
While a search operation is underway, the country is observing ongoing heavy rainfall across most regions.
A White Alert has been issued from Gaafu Alifu atoll to Addu City from 11:30 am to 5:00 pm today, warning of heavy rains, thunderstorms, and gusts of up to 40 mph.
