Scholarship opportunities to study in Hungary have been opened.
The Ministry of Higher Education today announced eight scholarships for a bachelor's degree, 14 scholarships for a master's degree, and three scholarships for a doctoral degree (PhD or DLA).
The ministry stated that the scholarships can be applied for through the "MyEdu" portal (https://myedu.egov.mv/). Online applications are open until January 15 via the Stipendium Hungaricum (https://stipendiumhungaricum.hu/) website.
Under the scholarship, the cost of return tickets and visa will be covered by the Ministry, while all other expenses will be borne by Hungary.
Candidates selected for the student loan scheme will have to give up the loan option after being nominated for the scholarship if they do not sign the loan agreement. Students selected for another scholarship will not be eligible for the scholarship.
Hungary increased the number of scholarships it offers to Maldivians annually from 15 to 25 during Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto's state visit to the Maldives in November last year.
With this change, a total of 100 scholarships will be available to Maldivians by 2024, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
