State Trading Organisation (STO) has decided to update the software of its digital calendar introduced last year and reuse it in 2025.

The company said it will soon share information and instructions on the 2025 software update on its website and social media. The new software will focus on innovation and user experience and will include easy software updates, integration with digital tools and other useful features, the company said.

The new update also comes with new themes and visuals, as well as custom reminders, and information on some of STO's brands.

STO launched the digital calendar last year as part of the company's sustainability, innovation and digital transformation thinking used in the company's business and general management.

Instead of releasing a new calendar, STO said it decided to update the software of last year's calendar and reuse it under the company's sustainability mindset. The decision was taken to further strengthen STO's efforts to reduce its environmental impact under its paperless policy, the company said.

STO also said that a printed calendar requires about 8,000 units a year which emits a lot of carbon during the manufacturing and transportation process.

The company sees the move to have a digital calendar as an important step to reduce waste, save trees and reduce its carbon footprint. The company also notes that print calendars consume a lot of resources and time and that the introduction and reuse of digital calendars can save millions in funds.

STO has significantly reduced the amount of paper used in the company's operations as part of its policy of reducing its expenditure on paper.
