At least 15 houses in Fuvahmulah City has experienced flooding, sustaining various property damages during the ongoing heavy rainfall to the region.

National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) confirmed it has received multiple reports of Fuvahmulah City residences experiencing floods amid the rain, with reported damages to property.

The island council authority is currently leading damage assessment efforts.

NDMA further reports that none of the flooded residences required evacuation.

The council is collaborating with Maldives National Defense Force (MNDF) to drain the water from the flooded houses.

While several houses in Fuvahmulah City have experienced flooding due to the rainfall, neighboring Addu City reported last week that 97 residences were flooded.

Maldives Meteorological Center (MET Office) had issued a white alert for the regions between Haa Alifu to Vaavu atolls. The authority issued a yellow alert from Kaafu to Addu atolls.
