Vashafaru makes an exit, Dhidhhoo and Naivaadhoo advance to finals

HA. Naivaadhoo and HA. Dhidhhoo advanced to the finals of the Golden Futsal Challenge's 2025's zone one which includes all the islands of Thiladhunmathi.

Although Vashafaru initially held the lead with four points, the leaderboard switched up right after the two finalist matches of Haa Alifu and Haa Dhaalu atolls. Dhidhhoo won against Vashafaru 3-2, claiming six points which advanced them to the finals with second place in the group.

The zone's first place is now held by Haa Dhaalu atoll's Naavaidhoo. The team won 1-0 against Neykurendhoo and also got six points. However leading with score points, Naavaidhoo is currently at the top of the zone. Meanwhile Neykurendhoo exited with only one point.

Last year's zone one champions were Utheemu. However, fans saw the team exit the tournament in the group stages this year. The Naavaidhoo versus Dhidhhoo match will be held at 08:00 pm on Wednesday night.

Inguraidhoo wins against Dhuvaafaru

While the two finalists for zone two were determined long back, R. Inguraidhoo remains on top after winning all matches. The team won against Dhuvaafaru 3-2, leaving Dhuvaafaru in second place with nine points.

Sh. Kanditheemu placed third in the zone after beating N. Miladhoo 7-5. Kanditheemu got six points while Miladhoo and Milandhoo finished with one point each.

The Raa atoll finals saw Inguraidhoo face off with Dhuvaafaru as well. However, Inguraidhoo won 3-1 and claimed zone two's champion title.

While Dhuvaafaru won the atoll and zone two championships last year, this year's winner will be determined in the zone finals on Wednesday night at 08:00 pm.

Zone four: Mathiveri and Mahibadhoo to face off in the finals

The last slot for zone four's final match was claimed by Adh. Mahibadhoo. The team played against Mathiveri and ended the match in a draw. With this, Mahibadhoo advanced to the finals with seven points. Mathiveri finished first with 10 points.

Third place in the zone is Mandhoo, which beat Thoddoo 2-1 last night. While Mandhoo got six points, Keyodhoo finished fourth with four points. Thoddoo only got one point.

Mathiveri was the zone four champion last year. Mathiveri versus Mahibadhoo final will be held on Wednesday at 09:30 p.m.

The Golden Futsal Challenge is divided into eight zones. Each zone has two teams moving toward to the top 16 where they will face off with each other. They are:

- R. Dhuvaafaru

- Gdh. Vaadhoo

- R. Inguraidhoo

- Hdh. Naivaadhoo

- Adh. Mahibadhoo
