However, with the expiration of his suspension, FIFA has not extended any further action against him.
Former Football Association of Maldives (FAM) president Bassam Adeel Jaleel has completed his nine-month suspension imposed by FIFA, which expired on March 20.
FIFA's Independent Ethics Committee had suspended Bassam in June last year amid allegations of embezzling funds from foreign agencies.
The suspension arose from investigations into claims of money laundering, fraud, and corruption involving FIFA funds that were allegedly misused by FAM officials.
Bassam is accused of using the money to purchase two penthouses.
In addition to the FIFA suspension, money laundering charges have been filed against him in Criminal Court.
However, with the expiration of his suspension, FIFA has not extended any further action against him.
An expert on football regulations, speaking anonymously, stated that Bassam is now considered "innocent" under FIFA’s purview, as no additional cases have been filed.
As a result, Bassam is now free to return to all football-related activities.
