Male' City Council, in collaboration with the Maldives Police Service, has once again initiated efforts to remove old vehicles abandoned on the streets of Male' City.
City Council said that these vehicles are being removed as part of their efforts to restore order and beautify the city streets.
Male' City Council revealed that many vehicles parked on city roads have remained unused for several years, with some being worn down and missing several parts.
The Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation collaborated with Male' City Council, Waste Management Corporation Limited (WAMCO), and the police earlier in February to tow and destroy old vehicles parked on the streets of Male' and Hulhumale'.
At that time, 200 old and unused vehicles were removed and destroyed from the roads in Male' and Hulhumale'.
