MVR 627 million awarded to develop hospitals, health centres across 9 islands

The projects, valued at a total of MVR 627 million were officially handed over during a ceremony held at the Health Ministry last night.

Three state owned companies have been awarded contracts to build new hospital and health center buildings across nine islands.

The projects, valued at a total of MVR 627 million were officially handed over during a ceremony held at the Health Ministry last night.

MTCC was awarded contracts for four islands:

- Noonu atoll Foddoo Health Centre: MVR 26,878,072.40

- Shaviyani atoll Maaungoodhoo Health Centre: MVR 27,219,325.40

- Vaavu atoll Felidhoo Hospital: MVR 105,360,655.93

- Thaa atoll Vilufushi Hospital: MVR 105,132,701.20

MTCC Managing Director Ahmed Saudhee and State Minister for Health Ismail Abdulla signed the agreement.

RDC will handle projects in four islands:

- Kaafu atoll Baarah Health Centre: MVR 26,819,434.82

- Construction of a Damanaveshi facility in Haa Dhaalu atoll Kulhudhuffushi: MVR 23,113,061.08

- Haa Dhaalu atoll Hanimaadhoo Hospital: MVR 104,834,778.55

- Alifu Dhaalu atoll Maamigili Hospital: MVR 105,004,634.47

RDC Managing Director Ali Zuhair and State Minister Ismail Shareef signed the contract.

Fenaka Corporation was awarded the construction of a health center in Haa Dhaalu atoll Makunudhoo for MVR 103,595,304.83.

The agreement was signed by Fenaka Managing Director Mohamed Najaah and State Minister Ahmed Gasim.

Following the signing ceremony, Health Minister Abdulla Nazim Ibrahim stated that more health facility projects will be handed over soon.

He reassured the government’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare sector.
