Maldives Industrial Fisheries Company (MIFCO)'s Chief Financial Officer Ilyas Haneef has resigned.
After having worked three years at the company, Ilyas resigned in late December due to personal reasons, he told Mihaaru News.
Ilyas had been in charge of company operations last year while the Privatization and Corporatization Board looked into issues that arose against former CEO Ahmed Shamaah Rasheed. Shamaah was later dismissed from the post.
With Ilyas now having handed in his resignation, General Manager Hamid Nazeem will be in charge of the company administration at present.
Early last month, Dr Vitaliy Lyubimov from Switzerland was appointed as CEO of MIFCO, but he is yet to officially assume duties.
MIFCO's Chairperson Ahmed Shareef was also recently transferred to the Board of Directors of Maldives Fisheries and Ocean Resources Marketing and Promotion Corporation (MFORMPC).
