President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has urged the people to leave the past behind and focus on self-improvement during Ramadan.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the Presidential Jetty, "Izzuddin Faalan," on Thursday night, the President emphasized the importance of forgiveness, kindness, and unity.

He called on everyone to purify their hearts, reconcile with loved ones, and take pride in their Muslim identity.

He encouraged people to resolve disputes in their workplaces and political environments, stressing that progress cannot be achieved by dwelling on the past. Instead, he urged the nation to move forward with a renewed sense of purpose.

"You cannot move forward by holding on to the past in your personal life, within your family, among friends, in your workplace, or in politics. Islam teaches you to move forward. Forgive. Restore friendships. Cleanse your heart," President Muizzu said.

He highlighted the importance of protecting fellow Muslims from harm and following the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Without these values, he said, one's faith remains incomplete.

"This is the time. We don’t know if we will live to see another day," he reminded, urging people to embrace Ramadan as an opportunity for self-reflection and spiritual growth.

He concluded by stating that personal reform leads to national progress and called on everyone to seek the blessings of Allah during the holy month.
