High Commission in Sri Lanka advises Maldivian residents ahead of elections

High Commission of Maldives in Sri Lanka has advised Maldivians living in Sri Lanka to be aware of the heightened security measures in the country as their Presidential Elections are set to be held this Saturday.

High Commission of Maldives in Sri Lanka has advised Maldivians living in Sri Lanka to be aware of the heightened security measures in the country as their Presidential Elections are set to be held this Saturday.

They advised Maldivians residing in Sri Lanka to carry identification documents when going out and to avoid going to areas where there are gatherings or voting centers located. They further asked to avoid going out at late hours of the night.

The High Commission advised to stock up on essentials ahead of Saturday, and to abide by the instructions of Sri Lanka's security forces.

It was also advised to be aware of the public holidays within the coming week and to complete any urgent visa related procedures prior to that.
