Housing Development Corporation (HDC) has decided to work with two Islamic organisations to release a video series aimed at increasing religious awareness.
The state-owned company said today that they were working with Al-Asr and Ilm Jamiyya to create informative videos with Islamic customs during the holy period.
HDC said they would be collaborating with Al Asr on a series called "gelleynetha", which talks about the importance of fasting, and its religious significance, as well as general awareness about fasting amongst the public. The series would air on social media platforms.
With Ilm Jamiyya, the target is small children with a programme called "Vaahakayo Vaahakayo", bringing stories of Prophet Muhammad (SAW)'s lifetime. This is the second such programme with the help of the organisation.
Its purpose, according to the HDC, is to provide children with educational stories based on the principles of Islam in an interesting way. The series would encourage children to learn about religion, the company said.
Every Saturday during Ramadan, HDC and Ilm Jamiyya will broadcast an episode on their social media platforms. The story series will be brought to viewers by Sheikh Jaufar Mohamed Usman.
HDC said its aim is to raise awareness in various fields during the upcoming Ramadan and make the information provided to the public useful for the month.
