Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau urged officers of Maldives Police Service to not disappoint members of the public when they reach out seeking assistance.

Shujau made these comments while speaking with police officers during his ongoing visit to the islands of Dhidhdhoo, Utheemu, and Kelaa in Haa Alifu atoll, located in the northern Maldives.

He also instructed officers to meet with people, understand their concerns and make police services more accessible to the public.

During his visit to these islands, aimed at gaining a deeper understanding of the local criminal environment, identifying public concerns, and discussing potential solutions, Shujau also met with the islands' council members and representatives of the Women's Development Committees (WDC).

During these meetings, he said that police plays a significant role in the developmental efforts of local islands.

According to Maldives Police Service, Shujau is scheduled to visit more islands of the atoll in the upcoming days.
