Five journalists from Mihaaru News have been awarded the Maldives Media Council's (MMC) annual Journalism Award.
The awards were presented in eleven categories, of which Mihaaru journalists competed in the top three in almost all categories. Mihaaru News had won the most number of awards during the ceremony.
- Fazeena Ahmed - Political journalism
- Mohamed Hamdhoon - Social Sector
- Nishan Ali - Photo Journalism
- Najah Massood - Feature writing
In addition to this, Aalim Abdul Latheef, won the Most Promising Journalist award.
Among them, some journalists received awards for their writing in their previous workplaces.
While, MMC has been giving the Journalism Award for 11 years Mihaaru News has been winning the most number of awards every year. Journalists from Mihaaru News have won the Journalist of the Year award multiple times.
