Statistics shared by the Ministry of Tourism indicate that, at present, the average tourist arrival rate per day is 5,500.
Maldives' reached 1.5 million tourist arrivals in 2024 by the end of October. This year, arrivals are predicted to increase by 10 percent.
The government aims to reach a target of 2 million tourists by the end of the year.
The highest number of tourist arrivals are currently seen from China. 228,000 Chinese tourists have visited the Maldives this year, with Russia, with 166,000 arrivals, is second on the list. UK is third, with 128,000 tourists having visited Maldives this year.
German follows, with 110,000 visitors, with another 107,000 tourists having come from Italy.
