President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has inaugurated the opening of the new Police Station in Haa Alif atoll Thakandhoo.
The inauguration was held today during the President's visit to Thakandhoo in his ongoing official visit to HA atoll.
At the inauguration, the President hoisted the national flag at the Police Station. The Police flag was hoisted by Commissioner of Police Ali Shujau.
The President was then taken on a tour of the facility.
Also during the visit, the foundation for the new Council offices in Thakandhoo were also laid. This was conducted by Minister of Cities, Local Government and Public Works Adam Shareef Umar.
Work has also commenced to place an ATM on the island.
The visit to Thakandhoo is part of the President's three day visit to HA atoll, where he will be visiting ten islands.
After Thakandhoo, he will also be visiting Maarandhoo, Hoarafushi and Ihavandhoo today. He is accompanied on this trip by a delegation of cabinet ministers and other senior State officials.
