The Indian Police team who came to Maldives to assist in the investigation into the fire incident at the government ministries have now left.
The Indian Police team who came to Maldives to assist in the investigation into the fire incident at the government ministries have now left.
Police said that the team left on December 22.
They said that the team had inspected the area affected by the fire, and gathered information necessary for the investigation. Relevant CCTV footage, photos and videos have also been shared with the team, they said.
Once they complete the necessary investigations, they will inform Maldives Police.
The fire incident which occurred on December 12 at around 06:30 hrs started in the Housing Ministry, and spread to the Construction Ministry and Environment Ministry, leaving the two buildings housing them damaged beyond use. The damaged structures had also housed EPA and an office of the Male' City Council.
The offices are temporarily being run out of Dharubaaruge.
