Man alleged of assault inside shop remanded in custody pending trial

A man has been arrested for assaulting a person inside a shop last Friday night.

Police said the incident occurred at 22:01 hrs on Friday night inside a shop located on Dilbahaaru Magu.

Police said in a message to the press today said that Muniz, aged 37 was arrested on Sunday, in connection with the incident.

He was produced in court yesterday for a decision regarding his remand and was ordered to remain in custody pending trial.

The person who was injured in the incident was released after receiving treatment at IGMH, police said.
