JSC commences another probe into Civil Court chief judge

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) launched another investigation into the chief judge of Civil Court, Abdulla Ali, on Tuesday.

Judicial Service Commission (JSC) launched another investigation into the chief judge of Civil Court, Abdulla Ali, on Tuesday.

In a statement, JSC disclosed that during Tuesday's meeting, it scheduled 18 cases lodged with the commission and formed investigative committees for four, including one involving Chief Judge Abdulla Ali.

The other three cases involve:

- Chief Magistrate Mohamed Amir, of Dhangethi Magistrate Court, Alif Dhaalu Atoll

- Chief Magistrate Abdul Muhusin Abdul Hakeem, of Nilandhoo Magistrate Court, Gaafu Alif Atoll

- Chief Magistrate Mohamed Moosa, of Naifaru Magistrate Court's Lhaviyani judicial branch

JSC first announced a probe into Chief Judge Abdulla Ali in July 2019.

The commission did not disclose further details of the cases.
