Shamha, breaks own record at Maldives marathon

Shamha Ahmed has set a new marathon record a week after breaking the Maldivian half marathon record at the Oslo Marathon.

Shamha who competed in the Berlin Marathon, went far beyond the record set by Mariyam Abdul Kareem (Mary). Shamha finished the race about 20 minutes earlier than Mary, who finished the marathon at 3:21:54 (3 hours and 21 minutes 54 seconds) at the 2019 South Asian Games in Kathmandu, Nepal. Shamha finished the race in Berlin in 3:02:41 (3 hours and two minutes 41 seconds).
