Maldives Customs Service foiled an attempt to smuggle 3.5 kilograms worth of drugs into the country.
Customs said the drugs were seized during an operation conducted during a search of a shipment that arrived in Maldives by sea yesterday.
The drugs seized included 2,138 grams of methamphetamine, 1,086 grams of ketamine and 310 grams of heroin, Customs said.
According to the agency, the total weight of the items was 3.5 kg with a street value of MVR 6.7 million.
The drugs have been handed over to police for further investigation, Customs said.
